Little Star Dancing, also known as Mrs. Jessica Souranis of Weirton, will offer a special Native American  Presentation Thursday, January 25, 2001 in conjunction with the "Frontier in American Culture Exhibit" beginning at 6:30 P.M.  in the Activity Room of the Mary H. Weir Public Library.

Little Star Dancing is a member of the Eagle Clan of the Shawnee Nation of Ohio. Her father was Russell Two Feathers Cyrus, chief of the Allegheny Band of the Shawnee Nation. She will perform a Fancy Shawl Dance as part of her presentation. In addition she will display and explain a variety of authentic Native American artifacts.

Mrs. Souranis has been sharing her Native American culture with school children in our area for many years. She brings to her presentations nine years of experience in Native American Dance competitions. "I really enjoy the Inter Tribal Dance competitions held during Pow Wow seasons where everyone dances in the circle at the same time. I prefer that more than the individual competitions. Dancing with a group is more my style," says Little Star Dancing.
